What we collect
Analytics are aggregate and anonymous. If you subscribe to the newsletter we store your email address and nothing else. If you leave a comment we store the comment, your account name and the time you posted it. That is the entire list.
Cookies
A session cookie to keep you logged in, and a per-post cookie so a refresh does not inflate our view counts. No advertising trackers, no cross-site identifiers, and no third-party tag manager deciding what else gets loaded.
What we do not do
- Sell, rent or share your email address with anyone.
- Build a profile of what you read across visits.
- Embed third-party trackers in articles or the newsletter.
How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe, at which point the record is deleted rather than suppressed. Comments stay with the article unless you ask us to remove them. Server logs are rotated and discarded on a short cycle.
Your data, on request
Email us and we will tell you exactly what is stored against your account, send you a copy, or delete it. Deleting an account removes the account and its comments. We do not require a reason and we do not try to talk you out of it.
Changes to this policy
If this page changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will say so in the newsletter rather than relying on you to re-read it.
Behind this page
This reference page is written from the same testing notes as the reviews it supports, and it is revised whenever the hardware or the software underneath it changes. Where a figure appears here it has been measured rather than quoted from a specification sheet.
If something on this page no longer matches what you are seeing, it is out of date rather than disputed — tell us and it gets checked again.

The reviews this page supports go into the measurements behind these figures, and the knowledge base collects every reference page we keep.
